Bob, Unfortunately I don't think I have the output to double check, but in my case the table did not have a No Range partition or any secondary indexes (which would presumably have also impacted the delete). I did explain the output given the time it took, which was obviously quite different for the drop versus the delete due to the amount of dictionary access. I didn't pursue the matter, as I was only 'playing' with the table at that stage and a delete followed by a drop gave me the performance I needed. If I get the opportunity I may try it again! Keith.
