From:   Diehl, Robert

Kath,

Simple solution.

1) run script to create ARC script. This script can be bteq, perl or whatever you like. It basically just has to use dbc.tables.CreateTimeStamp

2) execute ARC script create in step 1

I have seen this technique used at several sights. It is usually done to split the tables up into groups so can have several streams running at same time without using cluster backups. It also means you don't have to change scripts when new tables are added to a database where an archive is not taken at the database level.

Thanks,

Bob Diehl
