For all non-compressed join indexes, I don't believe there is any difference (other than the fact that field compression isn't available for
join indexes, thus, JIs can be much larger than their equivalent standard base table.) However, a compressed join index does differ from a
standard base table in the way it occupies disk space. This method is described in detail in the Terdata documentation.
