Xinyu,

In order for the host file to work with BTEQ, you need to have entry with tdpname ended with cop1, cop2, cop3 or cop4. You will only reference the tdpname when you used it in bteq logon statement.

If you post a sample of your host file and your logon statement used in your BTEQ here may be we can take a look and suggest something. What message did you get when your logon failed?
