Ed,

Thanks for the input. Here's whet the help section on 7.0 reads:

If Teradata Manager 6.x is already installed, when you install Teradata Manager 7.0 the COM object registration for ISService.exe is replaced so that only the 7.0 version is registered. If you then un-install Teradata Manager 6.x or Teradata Manager 7.0, this COM object registration is removed. In this case, you will be unable to start the Teradata Manager Service, and it will not appear in the list of services. To once again use the Teradata Manager Service, open a command window, make the Teradata Manager 6.x or 7.0 BIN directory the current directory, and execute the following command:

The first time around, he removed 6.1 and we lost the service. So he re-installed 6.1 to get us back on line and then re-installed 7.0 one more time.

We did the installation without the silent option but will monitor the installation process to pay closer attention to what he does.

The Windows XP in my workstation is Version 5.1 Service Pack 1.

I will forward your suggestions to our desktop support and hope we can try it again.

Is the service in the 7.0 file folder?
