From:   Ray, Edmond

It sounds like your 6.1 version of Teradata Manager was not uninstalled.

Also installing Teradata Manager for Client/Server mode requires that you DON'T take the defaults on the install.

You have to unselect Teradata Manager in the Silent install screen. Then select the Server install on the next screen.

One last thing. The communication protocol changed between TDMgr 6.1 and TDMgr 7.0. The old protocol was DCOM which is supported by NT. I am not sure what it is in 7.0 but I know it is different. I haven't checked the documentation but 7.0 may not be supported on NT.

The change came from the fact that DCOM is not supported on XP SP2 and Server 2003. I discovered this when I tried to run 6.1 on Server 2003 and could not connect to it. Support told me I had to upgrade to 7.0 to run on 2003 or XP SP2.

Good luck, hope this helps,
