If BTEQ and SQL Assistant show something different for this value, the problem probably lies somewhere deep within DBD::Teradata. If so, the
author may be able to help you. I would hazard a guess that the Perl XS code needs to be made aware of the length of the varchar value coming back
from Teradata.
