First suggestion would be to make sure you don't have Tracing on for ODBC. This will slow things down considerably. To check this pull up the ODBC admin tool and click on the tracing tab and make sure that tracing is not turned on.

If that isn't on, then you might want to have network engineering check your network connection between your desktop and the Teradata system, there could be some bottlenecks there.

Another thing that can slow ODBC down is how busy your desktop is or background applications that are running using up a lot of memory (Although this is infrequent unless your on an older pc).
