The latest GCA version of SQL Assistant is 7.0 (The next version will be 7.1 - not yet in Beta) so there is no such thing as version 8. I would need more detail in order to look into any problems. Other customers are sucessfully using 7.0 so it is not an inherant problem in the software. Version 7.0 however is the first one that is designed to use a Unicode version of the ODBC driver. You will need to make sure you are using Teradata ODBC 3.4.0.x in order to get full functionality from the product. (Much of the functionality will still work with older drivers since the ODBC Driver Manager will perform the necessary conversions between Unicode and ASCII.) SQLA 7.0, ODBC 3.4, and the underlying software (CLI, GSS, ICU) should all be installed from the same TTU8.0 CD. (Maybe this is the 8.0 you are refering to?) To look into this I would need the actual version you are using, the OS you installed on, the ODBC version, and details of exactly what problems you are having. Much of this information (plus more) can be obtained by running the 'verify.exe' application found in the SQL Assistant instal directory. (Send me the 'verify.log' file it creates.) Mike Dempsey
