I've seen this work on V2 R5.1.

     Sel columns
     From table a,
     Table b
     Where a.PI = b.PI
     And b.PI = date_value;

There are many variables that would need to be looked at In order to know why you case is not working.

It may possibly be the introduction of the surrogate key. I almost always use dates without surrogate Keys since they can't change.

You also have to be on recent release of V2 R5.1.
