Subj:   Re: Questions about the advisability of manual modification of interval statistics

From:   Victor Sokovin

  Criterion. One criterion, two criteria.

Are you talking about Greek, Latin or English?

Google gives only the rate of 8:3 for "a criterion" to "a criteria". The usage of such words in English has changed over the time. For example, who is using "a visum" (apart from Dutch tourists)? It has become "a visa" long time ago. "Criterion" will be gone pretty soon from English.

Dieter's reply was most ingenious. Does he have a real job, or does he just sit around and find the most obscure features of Teradata all day? ;-)

That I don't know but the combination of both is quite possible.

My 2-cent worth comment for Frank in this thread: it is all very interesting and useful but if I had to change stats manually I would not bother about collecting them at all. Just out of interest: doesn't your query run better without any stats collected on that date column?

Regards,

Victor
