Subj:   How to use "Client System Variables" in BTEQ?

From:   Anomy Anom

Dear All,

I am using TeraData version v2R5.

I have certain SQL-Queries which I need to execute quite frequently (using diffrent data-values in the 'WHERE' predicate, each time), through the BTEQ GUI interface.

Without using a Macro or a StoredProcedure (I am a user who doesnot have macro or strored procedure creation privileges) ...

HOW CAN I PASS DIFFERENT DATA VALUES FOR EACH PARAMETER in the SQL-Query?

(I don't want to hardcode the data values each time the query is executed, cause that way I have to modfy the query everytime it is to be executed).

HOW TO USE HOST VARIABLES or CLIENT SYSTEM VARIABLES through the 'BTEQ' GUI?

Can anyone provide a workable example of how to use host-variable or client-system-variable in a SQL-Query while using BTEQ, so that my SQL- Query can be parameterised?

Need express help in this regard,

Thanking you
