Subj: | | Denormalized Data Structures |

From: | | Stewart, Jim |
Through various conversations with Teradata, their claim to fame is that their DBMS can handle any kind of report and/or adhoc query with
optimal performance using the third normal form data structure. After reviewing various architectures using other DBMS's, denormalized data
structures are spun off the DW to gain performance. Does this happen in the Teradata world and if so, is it because of performance or business
needs.
Thanks in advance for all input.
