It definately seems like a network problem.

If the Open, Write or Close file failed they would get a message box with a title of:

"Error occurred during Save Query"

with the message text describing the error that was returned by the file system APIs.

If they do not see this then the file system is telling SQLA that the file was correctly written. (so there is nothing the app can do about it.)
