Is this a management request for metric and reporting purposes? I have seen several responses to this thread and I can't stop wondering if we are trying to solve the right problem.

Yes , This is request was pertaining to Management request for Metric & Reporting purpose

Oracle provides the record count for any user table, wanted to find out if we have some thing similar in Teradata. It looks like there is no straight forward method I have written my own scripts to capture the tablename and record count. Luckily it is monthly process so I can capture the record count @endofmonth
