Hello, everyone -

I work with SQL in Teradata Queryman v 5.2.0. Recently when pulling a large amount of data from the warehouse I found an apparent problem with the Append feature of the File | Export Results routine. I was joining to temporary tables, and due to my system limits on file uploads had to run against (approx) 8 tables. I merrily created a file with the first query and appended for passes 2-8.

But then I noticed a discrepancy with some summary data run earlier and came to the conclusion that the file append was somehow dropping records. I reran the queries creating 8 separate files and found that those record totals did agree with what I expected to find.

Has anyone experienced this? The query was long, but really a rather simple Union query, and I haven't dared use Append since.

I'm a new lurker with minimal experience in SQL and no real IT background, but I'd be grateful for any suggestions or feedback.
