Yes. BTEQ can handle BLOBs if you issue SET LARGEDATAMODE ON, but it is limited to 64K for Import/Export. (It does allow you to retrieve a larger LOB to sysout ... but that would be displayed in Hex dump format so it is only useful for debugging what was loaded by another application.) None of the load/unload utilities support BLOBs yet. CLI and ODBC both support BLOBs, so you could write your own application. I think the logic was that in many cases BLOBs will be loaded [and possibly retreived] by custom applications. For example, a medical system that captures CT scans would then load the scan to Teradata - and probably also retreive and display it later. Mike Dempsey
