There is no limit to the number of data bases that can be added to the tree ... but there is a limit to the number that can be stored for loading in the future. It is not a limit on 'number' - it is a limit on 'total character length' of the names. The database names are stored as a string with each name separated from the next by a single space. The total length of this string is 511 bytes. All versions (including the new 7.0) have this same limit. The theory was that most users deal with only a small number of databases. I guess DBAs may use this feature also, but Teradata Administrator was really designed for that purpose. Note that a separate list of databases is maintained for each data source you use with SQL Assistant. Mike Dempsey
