<-- Anonymously Posted: Monday, December 13, 2004 15:27 --> I recently inherited some DBA responsibilities... I would like to create a user ID that I use solely to ensure that my archive ID has the appropriate DUMP/RESTORE privileges on my entire system before full system archives. I have tried to issue the following command both as my system admin ID as well as DBC. grant dump, restore on "all" to "MYGRANTID" with grant option; When executed, I get the following error (3524: The user does not have DUMP WITH GRANT OPTION access to database All). The system that this process runs on is not very secure, so I want to grant minimal rights to this ID. Is there something screwed up on the system that I have inherited, or is this functioning as designed? If not functioning as designed, is there something I can do to resolve this? If functioning as designed, I would like to hear what others are doing in this situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
