It's not really clear exactly what you are trying to do here but from Excel you should be able to run/submit a query via ODBC that would pull
data directly into an Excel spreadsheet....at the other end of the spectrum you could certainly create a CSV data file via FASTEXPORT and/or BTEQ
which you could readily import into Excel.....
