Hello, PPI is a complicated matter to my experience. You might find the "PPI Usage" Orange Book on ncr@yourservice usefull. This was recently made avaible. I quote one recommandation from page 24, bullet 6 "In particular do not partition to a finer level of granularity then the queries need", etc. Lots of partitions may have a bad influence on joins, if you don't get partition elimination. We are currently on R5.0.3. In this release the rowkey based merge join (which achieves a "kind of partition elimination" - not tecnically the dynamic partition elimination referred to in R5.1.1) has been switched off by NCR. Therefore, and because DPE for product joins is not availible until R5.1.1, you probably should not consider PPI until R5.1.1 Best Regards Ole Dunweber
