The optimal disk space ratio is dependent on the nodes involved as well as how they're used. Older nodes such as 5200's support less space per node than the current nodes. Also, the optimal disk ratio is dependent upon the cpu/disk load imposed by the workload involved.

Use of Fallback also will impact your ratio as will the size of disks on the system involved (15K RPM disk drives with 36GB storage vs 15K RPM disk drives with 73GB storage.

Your Teradata sales rep has access resources to with a configuration tool that can help figure the optimal ratio based on your workload.
