Thanks a lot for your input.

I am trying to switch back and forth between BTEQ and FastExport. Can one do the following using one fastexport script

     .logon
     Create temp table1;
     Create temp table2:

     Insert into temp table1
     Select * from x;

     Insert into temp table2
     Select * from y;

     Export data in record mode

     Select * from table1
     Union
     Select * from table2

     .logoff

this is critical to resolve.

Would appreciate your help.
