Subj: | | Hot AMP after V2R5 upgrade |

After upgrading to V2R5, we are seeing a "hot AMP" condition on our system for large portions of the day. This single, hot AMP is showing CPU
consumption that is 4 to 5 times greater than the other AMPS. We have determined that NULLs and ZEROs hash to this AMP. However, we have also
determined that our data is pretty evenly distributed across all AMPs (less than 1% PermSpace variation between lowest and highest AMP). Has
anyone seen this type of behavior following a V2R5 upgrade? If so, what was the root cause? How did you fix the problem?
We are also seeing highly skewed spool since the V2R5 upgrade. However, spool is NOT skewing highly on the "hot" amp described in the
preceding paragraph, it is skewing on several other AMPs. Has anyone seen this type of behavior following a V2R5 upgrade? If so, what was the
root cause? How did you fix the problem?
Needless to say, these two conditions are causing substantial performance problems. From other postings, it appears that performance problems
are not terribly uncommon following a V2R5 upgrade, but I was wondering if anyone else has seen these two specific conditions, and what they did
to resolve them.
