Sampath: It would appear that you are not reading the solutions that a few of us have sent to you regarding how you do this. If you do not believe us, than you can find it in the reference manual and there would be no need for us to tell you how it works. One more time: INSERT INTO ....... DTE_CRE (DATE, FORMAT 'YYYY/MM/DD'), <--- if this is in your VALUES where it should be - use :DTE_CRE and :ORGN_PROV_DTE Without the colon preceeding the names, the optimizer is looking in the data dictionary in an attempt to resolve the "column" names. They are not columns, they are field names coming from the DEFINE. If you do this, the results will be much better. Michael Larkins
