How to compare Byte values using CAST function?

     select TVMId from DBC.Tables2
        where TVMName='EMPLOYEE'
        and DatabaseId=CAST(00004304 as BYTE)

Whats the correct way to compaire the BYTE values given that BYTE can be CAST to only BYTE.
