Well you can write handler based upon the SQL State -

     DECLARE CONTINUE HANDLER FOR SQLSTATE '23505'
     INSERT INTO Proc_Error_Tbl VALUES (:SQLSTATE, CURRENT_TIMESTAMP,
     'spSample1', 'Duplicate Row Error');

You can consult the Teradata V2R5 Reference Manual Volume 6, Chapter 9 for more details on SP and Handlers.
