This sounds like it could be a memory issue. Assuming you are populating 'dbc.resusagespma', I'd check to see if you were out of memory at the times of these lengthy abort select statements. If you don't already have 4 gigs on each node, I would strongly suggest you do so. Bad things happen when the system has no memory left.
