The 'Tequel' partition is the old name for the 'DBC/SQL' partition. This is for general queries etc. that you enter through BTEQ, SQL Assistant, or your own custom applications etc. (ie. not utilities) I have been told on many occasions that nothing uses the Tequel partition any more - although I have also heard from customers that see it in PMON - so i would be interested to know what application is submitting this. You can see the name of the application by looking at the 'Logon Source' field in PMON (you may have to hover the mouse over the field in order to see the full string) or in Session Information, or Sessions, in Teradata Manager. DBC/SQL or Tequel - Standard SQL I think these are listed in the Performance Monitor API manual - probably in the appendix where the fields are described. (Look for 'Partition') Mike Dempsey
