The overflow caused by casting timestamp(6) to a lower precision is a strict interpretation of the ANSI standard. However we created an
incident that was accepted as DR 82073 that will allow casting of timestamps with greater precision to lower precision without overflowing. This
would allow cast(MyColumn as timestamp(0)) where MyColumn is a timestamp with a precision greater than zero.
The last communication I had was that it will appear in V2R6....
