Hello,

Several times I have experienced very different plans in PMON compared to plans in SQL Assistent. I have been told about "regular explain" and "runtime explain" giving 2 different views of the same basic plan. But in these cases, it just can't be the same basic plan.

Because the PMON plan is very bad - performing an awfull product join on a large base table, running for hours.

While the regular explain in SQL Assistent shows our desired star join to this large base table.

The runtime SQL contains an insert into a temporary table, but it does not make any "Explain-difference" whether I include this table or not into the request.

What is going on??

We are on V2R.05.00.03.06

The large base table has PPI.
