Don,

For the demo version of Teradata V2R5.0 on the TW 7.0 Demo CD, the system debugger and crash dumps were disabled by changing a few lines to comments in the "define daemons started by pdemain" section of tdat\lpde\etc\startup.txt. If the line for "dbschk" is also changed to a comment, then you won't get the "dbschk terminated" message. This isn't the cause of Teradata not starting. When you try to start Teradata, what Teradata error messages are added to the Windows Event log?
