Thanks for your replies. I think I've to re-phrase my question. AGE column is an integer and the condition passed to my macro is a character string having both the relational operator and the age as part of the condition. Like '> 30' or '< 10' So my WHERE clause should look like WHERE age (:condition) which inturn should be interpreted as WHERE age > 30 Your thoughts would be appreciated.
