Subj:   Re: Teradata Access Type in DBC.AccLogTbl

From:   Victor Sokovin

I have looked through the manuals and have not found a complete list of Access Types. I have encountered three types in DBC.AccLogTbl: 'AN', 'HR', 'WL' which do not seem to have a definition in the manuals (that I have found). From grouping the statement types for these access types, it seems those records with a statement type relating to Show/Help/Replace table/Macro/View have an Access Type of 'AN' and that 'HR' seems to be related to releasing locks, and finally 'WL' which seems if I were a betting person, to be related to work tables for multiloads (selection/mload/release mload/begin mload/execute mload). Can anyone point to a manual or other related materials that would detail these specific Access Types ('AN', 'HR', 'WL') specifically for the DBC.AccLogTbl table.

One of the manuals where access types are described is the "Data Dictionary". The access types you mentioned:

AN = ANY PRIVILEGE (Indicates a HELP or SHOW statement for which at least one privilege, but no specific privilege, is required.)

HR = HUT RELEASE LOCK (Indicates that a client system utility lock is involved, which could require a check for one or more of the privileges associated with DUMP and RESTORE.)

WL = WRITE LOCK (Indicates that a LOCKING objectname =E2=80=9CFOR WRITE =E2=80=9D is involved, which may require checks for one or more of the following privileges: INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE.)

There is more information on p. 2-31 in "Data Dictionary" for V2R5.1, B035-1092-083A.

Regards,

Victor
