Jon,

expanding on your example....

100 AMP system

Let's say there is an all-AMP step, but most of the work is on one AMP due to data skewing.

Since it's all-AMP, there would be 1 worker task for each AMP....are they released as each AMP completes, or would all 100 be held until the slow guy completes?
