I don't think you can get information on the number of AMP Worker Tasks in use except maybe through a console app. (Not sure which one if any)

If you have Teradata Manager 6.1 you can use the Alert System to alert you when the number of available AWTs gets low however. (You set the 'low' number using the Alert Policy Editor.)
