<-- Anonymously Posted: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 20:56 --> Folks, We are on V2R5(4 node), looking to use the query based performance periods. I am looking to improve the response time of queries like CT, DT and queries on DBC tables and other short running queries even under heavy load. We used 2 RP's (say R1 and R2) apart from the default one. The procedure I followed was to run a query which causes product joins and run forever under R1 and R2. The step down logic is only under R1. Once the system is running at 100%, I run a series of create table, drop table statements and short running queries and measure response time. Some of the settings I tried Q 0.05 9 0.00 10 Q 0.10 9 0.00 10 Q 0.15 9 0.00 10 Some questions 1. Is my approach to test the feature correct? 2. I did not notice any significant boost, may be my values were too low. I was wondering how other customers have implemented this feature. I am interested in the values that they used? Any feedback is appreciated. PS: I did read Carrie Ballinger's Orange book on PS.
