Five years ago we had miserable experience with the Gateway. Good to hear things haven't changed. We installed Fast Export on the Oracle server to pull data from TD and pipe it into the Oracle loader to load a data mart for a business partner. Although we haven't done it in reverse Oracle->Teradata, it should be possible.

There are tools in the EII space that would allow you to dynamically connect data across sources but I can't imagine how they would perform any better without moving data from one box to the other to execute the join.
