Will changing the format of the index from char(10) to Char(11) change the hash value? For existing records, we will still have the same old
value in it(10 characters long), but for some new records(new project) we will need 11 characters. There are other tables having the same field
as index as well.
If we change this column to be char(11), will we have to change all the tables? can we keep all the other fact tables as char(10), since their
values do not change?
We need to make sure we are not going to create something very inefficient.
