Hi Prasanna, query optimisation is a convoluted process with many factors to take account of. It is hard to optimise a query without all the other information to hand. You need to look at the explain to identify the join plan, identify any redistributions or product joins, use of indices, data skewing and the state of the target table are all things to bear in mind. The teradata Performance Optimisation manual covers a lot of this stuff. Cheers, Tris Bayliff.
