Subj:   Formatting string to DATE

From:   Vidyasagar.Nagarajan

Hi,

I have problem in formatting String type to Date for eg . my input string '06/05/2004' should be format to 'YYYY-MM-DD' ie (2004-06-05').

     select DATE (FORMAT 'YYYY-MM-DD') (char(10))

or

     select DATE (FORMAT 'YYYY-MM-DD') (DATE)

is working fine.

But when i replace DATE with input string ('06/05/2004') the sql is coming out with error [Format string 'YYYY-MM-DD' has combination of numeric, character and GRAPHIC values.].

Help me to get desired O/P.

Thanks & Regards,
