Harmander, As I suspect you realise, this is a large topic and I do not believe there is a simple answer. Below are just a few suggestions I hope will point you in the right direction. I would suggest that the first thing you need to do is understand the workload you have running during the day. This will indicate how you address the problem. For example, have you got processes running than can be moved to run during the night? Are you running out of CPU due to the volume of work, or are some queries executing bad plans, eg running unnecessary product joins and consuming unnecessary CPU? Are some categories of queries more important than others? If so, PSF can help manage your workload. If you are on V2R5 you could implement some of the features that may help, such as MVC and PPI - though implementation needs to be thought through as depending on where you use them they could consume more CPU.
