Subj:   Re: Teradata on a Linux Platform

From:   Jebaseelan_S

Hi Mathew ,

Even I acknowledge the same . More than the Teradata running on some properitary platforms it is good if they utilize the Parallelism offered by Linux too. As we know that most of the high Performance Server in the world are utilizing the Power of Linux and the associated Processors.

We have some Nodes ( Not Teradata Nodes ) that is communicating to teradata DB . As we don't have the Driver to communicate to Teradata from Linux we have developed a ODBC to do that .

I have no means of comparing the Performance using Linux with another Platform , but we are achieving the best what we can achive with TD as well as Linux . This is at the Client Level .

I believe that TD will come forward with a Linux Version to be in the Open , Competitive market ...
