I had only a brief encounter with DS a few years ago so I don't know which auditing features it offers now. Perhaps somebody else can
advise.
If you want to keep an eye on the ad hoc changes in the source Oracle system there are dedicated methods within Oracle such as triggers,
auditing and LogMiner. The latter is no adverse performance impact and is quite cheap to implement. I don't know whether you have looked into such
options and what you think about them.
There is also a more discrete approach with periodic snapshots and deltas between them. A lot of work and some changes might remain
unnoticed.
