Subj:   Maintaining Data Lineage on Teradata

Our IT organization uses Ab Initio for data loads and for its ability to document the data lineage, (where data values originated, the movement from their origin to their current sites, and how they may have been altered or modified.).

When we need to populate a dependent datamart on Teradata, our data movement standard requires the data to be unloaded and then reloaded with Ab Initio to document the data lineage.

In this situation, the data would not have to be unloaded and the datamart would be populated with SQL, Macros, or Stored Procedures. What Teradata tools and/or processes can be utilized to automatically capture the data lineage of data movement within the Teradata?

Thanks.
