Here's something to try. I don't think it's "approved" or supported in a production environment so don't call the GSC or me if it doesn't work. In fact, I've had development people tell me it shouldn't work. But I tried it on MP-RAS and it did work. Try archiving to the internal tape drive using the FILEDEF runtime parameter. An example would be arcmain outlog=arc.out FILEDEF='(TDRIVE,/dev/rmt/c0t4d0s0)' < arc.ctl where TDRIVE is the name used in the control script FILE parameter and /dev/rmt/c0t4d0s0 is the UNIX device name for the tape drive. Like I said, it isn't supposed to work but it did work for me. Randy Heldt Teradata, a division of NCR
