Subj:   Re: Ab-Initio and "AMP lock table overflow"

From:   Victor Sokovin

We are on V2R5 and use Ab-Initio to load data, we have run into issues with rowhash locks when ETL developers use certain load components. Basically the system runs out of lock resources and we run into the "AMP lock table overflow" error message, which pushes active sessions into the aborting mode. This pushed some large deletes/inserts into the aborting state and wrecked havoc on the system. Have you or others run into this problem? Any pointers to avoid this is appreciated.

Which load components are you referring to? I can't recall any problems in this area on V2R4 but perhaps my Ab Initio context was different from yours.

Regards,

Victor
