I think it does! I just happen to stare at the syntax diagram for CREATE JI in SQL Ref for R5.0 and I see that "AS correlation_name" is defined as a mandatory clause for EXTRACT, SUM and COUNT. Cf. the FROM clause in the same statement, for example, where "AS correlation_name" is optional.
