Anyone have a recommendation or two on how to optimize the return of large answer sets via ODBC connections? I have a Cognos user building daily cubes that are transferring 3 to 4 million records at a time. The query only takes about 20 minutes to execute but then takes 3 hours to return the answer set, as verified by AMP state of Idle and PE state of Response for the query. I realize there are several variables here between Teradata, the network, and the Cognos server. So I was hoping any other Cognos users out there may have encountered a similar issue and have some ideas? Any Teradata parameters that may help this data transfer? We are on V2R4.1. I greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, Jason Fortenberry
