Anomy,
Yes, More than one table can co-exist on a particular cylinder. It is a data block that will exclusively contain rows for only one subtable.
Also a cylinder can be used for storage of PERM or TEMP or SPOOL data but not a combination.
A SRD (Subtable Reference Descriptor) exists on the Cylinder Index (CI) for every table that lives on a cylinder. SRD lists the sub-tree of
data blocks for a particular table on a particular cylinder.
